profeministbro:
Last night at the male-identified training we did an exercise - asking men what they did on a daily basis to reduce their risk of sexual assault. The list for men was one thing: “Don’t go to jail.” When the facilitator of the exercise, who is female-identified, listed things…

Oh, and why Titanic is the original Twilight.
My husband saw I was watching this and said, “You know the boat sinks, right?”

Men had no problem violating women’s bodies while they had on corsets, petticoats and farthingales, so what the fuck makes you think a short skirt has anything to do with it?
Men also have no problem violating women’s bodies while they wear a niqab, hijab and burqa, some of the most covered form of clothing. So basically, what the fuck makes you think...

Have you heard Glenda Moore’s story?
Stranded outside during Hurricane Sandy with her 2-year-old and 4-year-old son, she went to a neighbor for help. According to Glenda, after hanging onto a tree with her sons in her arms for hours, she knocked on a nearby door for help, but her neighbor wouldn’t let her in. Then, she went around the back and tried to break a window, but was...

She Came Dressed As Patriarchal Expectations...
therisingtithes:
On Saturday night, coming back from a poetry show, I saw a herd of individuals walking up and down Ariapita Avenue, heading to or coming from various Halloween parties in the area.
We counted four Jokers and one Bane (took us all damn night to find Bane, when we did most of the nerds among us almost cried).
I lost count of ‘sexy’ costumes. Some of them I couldn’t even make out...
