Experts split on Grande Riviere action
Local experts are split on the Grande Riviere action. Leaving aside the (obviously pertinent) issue of government influence and affiliation, does it seem like we’re all talking at cross-purposes here?
I haven’t heard anyone, conservationist or otherwise, say that the earthworks weren’t very necessary. The issue happens to be when it became apparent that it was necessary (consensus says December) and why the government waited until hatching season to do it.
Yes, everyone knows it was an emergency, but, it wasn’t always one, was it? Or are we to assume that the erosion began three months ago (for the first time) and progressed to such a drastic degree in that time?
Come now, folks.
