When I taught classes, every now and then I would flash a little picture of the potential prime minister in my powerpoint and find some reason to link her; ‘cause, I mean, I have 1000 students. They could go a long way!
Therese Baptiste-Cornelis, Ambassador Permanent Representative of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations Offices at Geneva

Quote of the Day
Here, our Honourable Ambassador explains - jokingly, of course - how she sought to indoctrinate her university students and subtly encourage them to vote for a particular Political Party.
It’s not the best/worst part of the now-infamous speech, but it’s a great example of the kind of irreverence with which she refers to her exalted position and the process that got her there.
See the rest here and, if you’re a Trini, prepare to hang your head in shame as you listen to your former Health Minister explain how she felt coerced into the job: “Be a politician or be unemployed”.
Classic.
